The 1-1

Eleven months old. Queue the countdown.

I can't wait for his next check up so we can see how big he's gotten.

This month was pretty eventful. I'll let Lucas explain that to you...

Milestones

I now have four teeth! Yeppers, that's the bottom two plus two up top. Not the very two front top teeth but the two teeth right next to them. Mama says I have fangs now and she should dress me as a Vampire for Halloween. I have been working on the top two center teeth as well for a very long time. They look so close but they just haven't cut through yet. Maybe this month!

Do I make a good Vampire???

I had my first school pictures taken. Mama says if I weren't so darn photogenic then they wouldn't have to spend so much money on me. :)

I've been crawling around super fast as usual. And been scaling all the furniture and walking along the walls as usual. The other week I was doing my usual and got distracted and got a boo-boo. I hadn't been to the doctor in two months so we made a special trip this time. But I could tell how worried Mama and Dada were. I got extra kisses and hugs and snuggles. And I also found out how to climb onto the couch now. And I do it just to irritate Mama knowing that she'll chase me. I climb into my little blue chair that sits up against the couch and then I crawl up from there. It's a fun game!

We went to a place called the Melting Pot the other weekend to celebrate how Mama and Dada have been together for ten years. I was a third wheel they said and it was fun!

This past week I've been doing my usual moving about. Mama would shout out at me, "HANDS!" and wave her hands in the air like a crazy woman. Or sometimes she would try to make me clap, "CLAP CLAP CLAP!" she would say. So I figured I was supposed to play along and raise my hands or clap my hands. A few times her and Dada would get excited when I did it. I just didn't understand why, but I was happy they were happy. We played this game again this weekend with my Nana and Grandpa too. I would walk along with my Dino and when I stopped they would yell at me, so I would raise my hands and they would all get excited again. What a bunch of weirdos. I finally figured out what the excitement was about though. Mama said I stood with my hands up for a whole six seconds. And then when we would walk around I would let go and step a few steps before down I went. Apparently that was a big deal too. Those old people really get happy over the strangest things.

On another note, we also learned that I don't like bubbles in my bath.

WAAAHHHHH!

Mama says this next month is special for me. I can't wait to see why!

And the countdown begins...

Perfect Ten

It’s that time of month again.  My boy is now Ten Months old as of yesterday.  He’s had a big month.

No status reports on measurements, but I’m sure he’s gotta be at least 20lbs by now.  We’ve been trying to fatten this boy up so he gets out of the 28 percentile in weight.
He’s now eating four meals a day.  And he’s finally started eating finger foods successfully.  He enjoys Gerber’s Puffs now and knows immediately what to do with them.  Before, he hesitated but now he picks them up and puts them right into his mouth.  And it used to get messy as he would push bits out of his mouth as he chewed but he’s gotten better about keeping it all in his mouth.

We’ve also given him some Gerber’s Yogurt bites too and those are still messy, and sticky.  But he likes those too.  That’s about all so far for finger foods though.  I’ve tried some diced apples but he doesn’t bother with those yet.  Won’t even touch ‘em.  Hopefully that will be a triumph this next month.
He’s been walking around like crazy, assisted of course.  He’s scaling all the furniture and walls to get from room to room.  He enjoys his “Dino” walker that my parents have at their place.  And we decided to get him this “Cars” themed ride-along/walker for our place too.  We thought about getting it for his first birthday but I couldn’t resist giving it to him right away.

Now, a few words from Lucas!
Milestones
This month I’ve gotten much faster crawling around and walking along the walls.  I’ve even surprised the cats a few times by sneaking up on them.

I went to my first baseball game this month!  And I was such a big boy by staying awake the whole game.  I had a great time cheering on the team and flirting with all the ladies.

And I sure missed Dada a bunch this month.  He was gone away for work for a total of 14 days.  But Mama and I were able to get by without burning the house down.

And now, I’m working on more teeth.  I’m having trouble sleeping at night because my top teeth are working their way through.  So by next month I should have a whole new smile!

Alphabet Scramble: T

T

Talk - Lucas is very chattery these days.  He's starting to make more and more different sounds.  I think that Dada or Daddy will come long before Mama or Mommy.  But that's okay.

Teething - Yeah, he's been doing that for the longest time in a drooling sense.  No teeth yet!

Tummy time - He enjoys his tummy time and likes to do doughnuts on the floor.

Alphabet Scramble: O

O

Oliver - This is our other kitty, a gray tabby.

Here kitty kitty.

Orajel - We haven't had to use much of this at all.  Lucas still hasn't cut any teeth but he is still "teething" which we currently attribute only to drooling crazy.  There have been a few times where he's been really fussy and we tried everything - he's dry and clean, he's fed, he's had a nap.  So just in case it was his gums I put a dab of Orajel on his pacifier and he would be all better.  I can't wait till we really need it!  {sarcasm of course}  :)  But, we've also got the Orajel brand toothpaste...for when those teeth finally show up.

Onesies - I don't even know if he wears all of the ones we have for him.  There are soooo many.  I try to rotate as best I can.  But now that he's in the 6-9 month size we've started putting him more in the non-onesie outfits, meaning the actual t-shirts and shorts/pants.  So the onesies just might be phasing out for the most part.

Oatmeal Cereal - He's not a fan.  I think it's too plain for him.  Although that doesn't explain why he enjoys the taste of formula so much {bleh!}.  Once I finish this one box I'm going to get the flavored kind that Gerber makes.  Maybe he'll want it more often.
